I just have to tell you all about the neatest thing I got in the post recently. It is an Apron in a Tin by Oliver Harvey!
What a delightfully novel idea. As soon as I saw it I found myself wondering why I hadn't thought of that! I predict great things for this new and exciting product.
Oliver Harvey has been designing quality chef's ware for some of the world's best chefs for over 30 years now and has now brought the "chef" experience to the domestic market with a range of luxury aprons, which are manufactured right here in the UK.
(I confess to being well acquainted with the quality of Oliver Harvey as when I took my Chef's course all those years ago, they are who I chose for my kit to wear in the kitchen. )
It arrived at my home in a lovely little tin and beautifully wrapped in tissue . . . I almost hated to shake it out . . . but this is a review and so I did. (It looked good enough to eat I'd say!)
Made of sturdy 100% cotton material, this colourful version has nice long branded non-tangle waist ties. (I love that the stripes go up and down . . . so very thinning!)
Just look at the meticulous detail, with the adjustable neck halter and strap . . . in antique brass. Just lovely . . .
I also love the detail with the large central mitered pocket on the front. Very useful.
It comes in a no less than eleven different colours and patterns. You can check them all out on the Apron In A Tin page. They retail at a very reasonable £24.50 and would make the perfect gift this Christmas for that "chef" in your life!
The only way they could possibly improve on this apron is to add a tab with a removeable (for wsshing) hand wiping cloth . . .but that's coz I'm a mucky pup when I cook and am always wiping my hands. It would be really handy to have a spot on the apron that you could actually attach one.

What a gorgeous apron!! The stripes and the blue polka dots are my favorite... I have two aprons, but one can always use more, I think! You get the funnest things in the mail :)

We got back late last night after a week in Germany visiting our friend and the Christmas markets, luckily my daughter was here to receive the cheeses which arrived yesterday! There are some varieties I haven't tried yet and I intend to make some of your recipes with a couple of them and as three of them have January 'use by' dates, I'll save those for the Christmas cheese board!
