It couldn't have been easier though. I don't have lard (or want to!) so I used odourless coconut oil which worked a treat. I didn't have the proper tins either so I used a well greased muffin tin. It was a great way of using up leftover macaroni cheese we had from the night before. 😊Claire Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11342880720341138998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-78068197165631576632014-04-07T06:38:24.329+01:002014-04-07T06:38:24.329+01:00I expect it could Rene, but I would really butter ...I expect it could Rene, but I would really butter the tins very well prior to making it. Not having done this however, I cannot say with any conviction that they will turn out. If you are looking for a good macaroni and cheese recipe to bake in a casserole dish why not try this one: http://theenglishkitchen.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/mac-and-cheese-on-monday-afternoon.htmlMarie Raynerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00407913432222377267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-50011461791049122572014-04-07T00:58:19.478+01:002014-04-07T00:58:19.478+01:00Can the Mac&cheese be made in large muffin tin...Can the Mac&cheese be made in large muffin tins without the crust? Traditionally over here a raise pie like this would have the hot water pastry and I am not sure if butter would work. You could try it if you want. It would be a lot richer. Let me know how it turns out! I would be interested in knowing! Mine even excels in Scottish games (tossing cabers and all!) But, I agree...there's nothing quite like the mental images of the historical ones, is there?
