I'...I had to make this one as soon as I saw it. I'm in love with ginger baked goods of any kind. I tend to agree with you on the cloves - I can't imagine using that much in this recipe as it would dominate and be more of a clove bar than a ginger bar.<br /><br />The only thing I did differently was add grated lemon zest to the cream cheese - I just couldn't resist. We always had a lemon frosting on ginger cake when I was a kid and I can't stop myself continuing the tradition. I also sprinkled some zest on top, along with the glace ginger. No walnuts.<br /><br />It was really lovely. Ideal to have for afternoon tea and I may have even had seconds.
