The egg helps the patty's to firm up when they are cooking and hold together as do the first lot of bread crumbs. Otherwise they would be too soggy. The second lot of crumbs gives them a crispy coating. Just curious, have you actually made these?Marie Raynerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00407913432222377267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-6647218489228860092021-01-30T20:41:56.571+00:002021-01-30T20:41:56.571+00:00YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SPECIFY WEIGHT RATHER THAN NUMBE...YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SPECIFY WEIGHT RATHER THAN NUMBER OF PARSNIPS. i GROW MY OWN AND THEY WEIGH UP TO 1.75 KG, AVERAGE JUST UNDER 1 KG. EACH. WHY ADD THE EGG AND BREADCRUMBS? THEY ADD NOTHING TO THE TASTE OR TEXTURE. BETTER OFF ADDING A DESSERTSPOON OF MAYO - LIGHTENS UP THE WHOLE RECIPE Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04926682202306866684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-25185474446107253592012-01-06T23:30:54.250+00:002012-01-06T23:30:54.250+00:00My English husband loves parsnips and so I added t...My English husband loves parsnips and so I added them to some roasted vegetables I was doing along with a chicken. I tried. I tried so hard to like them. But, it's not a taste I enjoy. Loved the potatoes, sweet potatoes, onion, garlic, squash, etc. Just couldn't do the parsnips. My husband loved them though. So, I'll continue to add them for him!

2 Kids and Tired CooksHolly (2 Kids and Tired)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13075380878850295214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-8062017332352498472011-12-30T18:01:13.749+00:002011-12-30T18:01:13.749+00:00Oooooh, these look YUMMY! I've never thought to cook them as patties before.

I remember back in my early childhood when my mother and big sister tried to make me eat cabbage. After numerous sittin's, they decided to hide some in my Yorkshire pud! I knew it was on my plate somewhere and when I finally found it...blah....it ruined my whole roast dinner. I've never eaten cabbage even to this day so they wasted their time with all the scheming :(
Have a fabulous Friday Marie xoxoNeesiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08629847485174945501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-3021792173296474342011-12-29T18:09:39.160+00:002011-12-29T18:09:39.160+00:00I adore parsnips and those patties look amazing Ma...I adore parsnips and those patties look amazing Marie!Karen S Boothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18024864830370677754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-20330026790472070402011-12-29T13:18:47.949+00:002011-12-29T13:18:47.949+00:00I just discovered your blog. I especially enjoyed my first ploughman's meal. I have book marked you so I can visit regularly. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful country. Our friend from London is arriving at our house this afternoon for a short visit.Janette - The2Seasonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11816323959836586470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-9490360257748855402011-12-29T12:46:14.816+00:002011-12-29T12:46:14.816+00:00Parsnips are one of my favorite vegetables.
