Nice crust, very even crumb with no bubbles. It is SO deliciously crunchy when toasted! I imagine it would make wonderful grilled/toasted sandwiches, and I intend to test that theory! :^)<br /><br />I did not use vital wheat gluten because I didn't have any.<br /><br />The bread did deflate about 1 inch before it finished the cycle. The vital wheat gluten probably ensures a sturdier, higher crown than buttermilk alone provides. <br /><br />I can't specifically taste the maple syrup, nor the buttermilk. But it's very much an all-around good, homemade flavor! I will certainly add it to my list of favorite bread machine breads. Thank you, Marie!!
