WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE AN AIR FRYER REUBEN SANDWICH
You do need a few specialized ingredients. Buy the best that you can of these, and you won't be disappointed.
- 2 slices rye bread
- softened butter to spread on the outside
- 1 TBS Thousand Island Dressing
- 1/4 pound (4 ounces/115g) thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami
- 3 ounces (85g) sauerkraut rinsed and drained well (about 1/3 cup)
- 2 thin slices of Swiss cheese

This is the sandwich of my childhood. Delicious and comforting.
Air Fryer Reuben Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 slices rye bread
- softened butter to spread on the outside
- 1 TBS Thousand Island Dressing
- 1/4 pound (4 ounces/115g) thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami
- 3 ounces (85g) sauerkraut rinsed and drained well (about 1/3 cup)
- 2 thin slices of swiss cheese
Instructions
- spread the softened butter on one side of each slice of rye bread. Flip over and spread half of the thousand island dressing on each slice.
- Top one slice of bread with the corned beef. Top that with the sauerkraut and then the cheese slices. Place the other slice of bread on top, dressing side down, butter side up.
- Place into the basket of your air fryer. Place the basket in the air fryer.
- Air fry for 4 minutes at 390*F/198*C. Carefully flip over and continue to air fry at 390*F/198*C for a further 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Cut in half on the diagonal to serve.

- 3 slices of ripe tomato
- medium sized handful of finely shredded romaine lettuce
- salt and black pepper to taste (remember the bacon and turkey will be salty)
Croissant Turkey Club Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 fresh all butter croissant
- 2 TBS good quality mayonnaise
- 3 slices streaky bacon
- 3 ounces (85g) thinly sliced smoked turkey
- 3 slices of ripe tomato
- medium sized handful of finely shredded romaine lettuce
- salt and black pepper to taste (remember the bacon and turkey will be salty)
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet until your desired doneness. I like it crisp. Drain on some paper towels.
- Using a serrated knife cut the croissant in half horizontally. Spread the cut sides of each half with mayonnaise.
- Place the bottom half on a plate. Top with half the lettuce.
- Place the tomato slices on top of the lettuce. Sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper if desired.
- Cut the bacon slices in half crosswise and place on top of the tomato. Pile the smoked turkey on top of the bacon.
- Finish off with the remainder of the lettuce and place the top half of the croissant on top of the lettuce, mayonnaise side down.
- Cut in half and enjoy!

- 2 TBS butter, divided
- 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 fresh Kaiser roll
- 4 slices deli ham
- 2 slices deli swiss cheese
Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich with Bacon & Caramelized Onions
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bacon, fried until crisp (or as you desire)
- 1 small onion, peeled and thinly sliced
- pinch sugar
- 2 TBS butter, divided
- 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 fresh Kaiser roll
- 4 slices deli ham
- 2 slices deli swiss cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350*F/180*C/ gas mark 4.
- While the oven is preheating, melt half the butter in a small skillet. Once it begins to foam add the sliced onions and a pinch of sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions have begun to caramelize.
- Melt the remaining butter in a small dish in the microwave. Whisk in the mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
- Have ready a large square of aluminum foil.
- Cut your bun in half through the middle. Brush both sides of the bottom half of the bun with some of the butter/mustard mixture.
- Layer as follows. ham, cheese, onions, bacon.
- Brush both sides of the top half of the bun with the butter/mustard mixture. Place on top of the sandwich, cut side down.
- Place into the middle of the square of foil. Bring all of the sides of the foil up to cover the bun completely and twist to close.
- Place onto a small baking sheet and bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the sandwich is heated through and the cheese has melted.
- Enjoy it while its hot.
