Bread and Jam

Friday 8 October 2010

I'm still seriously not feeling very well . . .

It sucks. And I don't even have my mum living nearby to come over and spoil me a bit . . . pamper me a lot . . . and help to make me feel better. *SNIFF*

I never cooked all day. Not at all . . . I just have no energy in me to do much of anything. I just want to lay around in my jim jams and feel sorry for myself.

This calls for the ultimate comfort food.

Store bought white bread (Thick slice) spread with softened butter and then slathered with Bon Maman Strawberry Jam, coz if you don't have homemade . . . and I don't . . . it's the next best thing . . .

I may not have my mum nearby to help . . . but I do have Bon Maman! (And no, I wasn't paid to say that!) Hopefully will be back to our normal programming by tomorrow! I can't take much more of this! (Feeling sick that is, not the bread and jam . . . that I can quite happily gorge myself on!)

  1. Poor Marie. You are looking awwwful. Furry, Hope your ice bag helps. I see you use the same jam I do. As you say ... moreish. Ummm. I save those jars for chutney. Tomorrow would be a good time to make apple chutney with some cranberries.

Get well soon Marie. Oh! Don't forget. It's Thanksgiving weekend.

  2. Get well soon! Some sort of crud is running around the states as well. My stepson, my daughter and I have some sort of sickness and 1/2 of my husband's office is out sick too.

So glad I found this site! My husband and I plan to move to England in 4-5 years. We've always heard the same exact things you had about English foods. We don't fear any foods so we are quite excited to try real English fare. We are slowly starting to assimilate ourselves to the limited British foods that are available here in the States. :)

  3. Oh I love a jam butty:) The ultimate comfort food. Takes me back to my childhood, when a jam butty and a glass of milk would be waiting on the kitchen table when we got home from school.

Thank you for evoking a good memory form my past.
    Get Well Soon.

Sheilagh...... now have we got any jam?... :(

    Got jam, no xx

  4. Oooh - bread and jam, there is nothing like it for making you feel better.

  5. I hope you get well assap. Have a nice weekend!

  6. Aww Marie. Wish I were closer :) It really does suck feeling poorly, doesn't it. It's been quite some time for me and I'm really looking forward to being me again. Praying you feel so much better soon
    xoxo Pattie

  7. Poor you Marie... hope you get yourself to the doctor as you do sound low. Sending you love and get well wishes xxx

  8. There is nothing better than bread and jam! Hope you feel better soon.

  9. Sorry to hear you're not well Marie - get better soon xoxo

  10. What a nasty bug you've got! Hope you get to feeling better soon.

  11. Seriously, there's nothing better when under the weather than what you've got right there. Vats of tea and hours of bad tv. Hope you're better soon.

  12. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well Hun. Hope you are fighting fit again in record time ;0)
